The Mi Band 4 now comes with a colored 0.95-inch AMOLED display. A huge step-up from the Mi Band 3 which came with only a 0.78-inch monochrome display.

In addition to that, it’s also covered with a 2.5D tempered glass panel to withstand knocks and light scratches.

Visibility outdoors has also been improved thanks to the 400 nits display.

The Mi Band 4 comes with the same 5ATM water resistant rating and heart beat monitor as its predecessor. But it also comes with the addition of a 3-axis gyroscope and accelerometer which the former was not found in the Mi Band 3.

This means that it’ll be more accurate in detecting the sports you’re doing and it will give you more precise tracking.

Lastly, it comes with Bluetooth 5.0 BLE which is said to offer better range and faster pairing.

Other goodies.

The band will come with 77 extra watch faces and it will support QR code payments via Alipay on the standard variant. The NFC model, on the other hand, comes with a voice assistant which you can use to control your smart home appliances.

The standard Mi Band 4 will come with a 135mAh battery while the NFC model comes with a 125mAH battery. We assume this is due to space constraints of placing a NFC reader in a small frame.

However, Xiaomi claims that the NFC model will offer up to 15 days of battery life.

The Mi Band 4 will be priced at US$25 while the NFC model will cost US$33. There is also a limited edition Avengers edition which comes with additional bands and NFC support. It will be priced at US$48.

If you’re thinking of getting an upgrade or are still on the first or second Mi Band, the Mi Band 4 is definitely worth the change. Plus, it’s still not going to break your wallet.
