Ever wanted to ‘feel’ the movies and TV series you’re watching on Netflix?

Well, that might be a reality soon!

Netflix recently held their ‘Hack Day‘ where employees got to try new ideas and technology for the company. Some of these innovations might be left to gather dust and some might make its way into the Netflix app.

In 2018, Netflix employees created a hack called Eye Nav. It utilizes the iPhone’s AR features to let users navigate the app using just their eyes. Stick out your tongue and playback will pause.

They also released a funny video demoing the feature:

Although the feature never made it to consumers, it’s still a cool and fun way to interact with the app.

This year, the employees developed another hack that will vibrate your phone according to the action on-screen.

It’s done by analyzing the audio clip of the video and based on that, provide haptic feedback to users when the action gets intense.

While it does add a sense of immersion to the videos, it might not work so well if you’re watching a comedy show. But if you’re watching an action show, it could enhance the viewing experience.

You might hate the feature, but it would be a nice addition to the app and they would probably make it optional.

I don’t know about you, but I really hope they add the feature in future updates.
