Seminal RPG series Baldur’s Gate is 20-years-old, and developer Beamdog will soon be bringing enhanced editions of the Baldur’s Gate series and other Dungeons & Dragons classics to consoles in celebration – and we now what they look like and when they’re due.

The full list of enhanced Dungeons & Dragons classics coming to consoles (Beamdog has been steadily releasing spruced-up versions on PC for years now) is actually quite a lengthy one. Enhanced editions of Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate 2, the Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights will all be heading to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch this “fall”.

And if you’re wondering what sort of enhancements are coming to consoles, Beamdog says to expect native support for high-resolution widescreen displays, optimisations for console controllers, new characters and classes, new voice sets, expanded character creation options, improved multiplayer functionality, UI and UX redesigns, new standalone content, plus various bug fixes and balance changes.

While release dates for the individual digital versions of each title remain unclear, Beamdog and publisher Skybound Games are more forthcoming about their planned physical editions. The Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack and Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition/Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition are set to launch on 27th September in the UK (and September 24th in North America), while the Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition arrives a little later. It’s coming on 6th December in the UK and 3rd December over yonder.

The Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack, if you’re curious, includes the Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition (both including all DLC and restored quest content), plus the Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion. There’s also new content from Beamdog intended to bridge the gap between games.

As for the Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition/Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition Pack, both games are included, as is all their DLC. And the Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition bundles up the beloved 2002 RPG and all DLC, promising “10 standalone D&D-based adventures featuring co-op and online multiplayer.”

All three physical releases will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, and will cost $49.99 USD (around £40). Prices for individual digital versions of each game have yet to be shared.
